“Risk Of Adverse Obstetric And Neonatal Outcomes By Maternal Age: Quantifying Individual And Population Level Risk Using Routine UK Maternity Data.” By: Laura Oakley,
From this article, I have learned that the complications with pregnancies and births are at a much increased risk when the mother is at an older age. The study also found that the increase of risk begins as early as 25 to 29 years of age. This source is very helpful in my project and paper because it was not only a real scientific study in the United Kingdom, but it is also from a credible source and author and it proves some ideas wrong that are typically thought of with risk factors of age and pregnancy. The lab will definitely come into play in my project when I explore the field of gynecology and obstetrics as a whole and while exploring childbirth and pregnancy throughout the world and risks that are involved. Overall, this source is credible, useful, and will be used in my project later on this year.

"Birth Models That Work" By: Robbie Davis-Floyd
In the book, “Birth Models That Work”, the authors discuss the practice of midwifery throughout the world and the results of the different techniques. The book also includes certain models that display the least amount of infant and mother mortality and the results of different models made to test its effectiveness. Some quotes I will include in my project are, “Eight to twelve women with similar gestational ages meet as a group with an obstetrical provider—midwife, physician, advanced practice nurse—and a co-facilitator for ten sessions throughout pregnancy and the early postpartum period” and “Through this unique model of care, women are empowered to choose health-promoting behaviors. Health outcomes, specifically increased birth weight and gestational age for mothers who deliver preterm, and increased satisfaction expressed by both the women and their providers, support the effectiveness of this model for the delivery of prenatal care.”(Rising and Jolivet 365). Overall the source is credible due to the credibility of the website it was found on, Questia School, and the publishers, University of Berkeley. The date also indicates credibility because it is a recent work written in 2009. I will use this source in my capstone project to reflect the hopes and achieved status in the future of women’s healthcare, specifically childbirth. I can use the direct quotes I have listed above to show the successes of certain models and the advancement overall with the gynecology and obstetric field from 2009 to today’s advancement.

"A Womb With A View: America's Growing Interest With Pregnancy" By: Laura Tropp
In this source, the main topic is about the growing interest of pregnancy in society and the affects of that. Some information from this paper that I can use in my Capstone project includes the discussion of the new tests available and their benefits and their negative consequences as well. In the book, Tropp states “Does extensive testing bias people toward abortion, encouraging a modern version of eugenics?” In my overall presentation, I would like to include this question to make my audience think about the intensity of this idea and if it is true to them or not. In addition, this question could really evaluate the new technologies available and if they should be used normally. Now, this source is credible because it is written from an author with first-hand experience from her pregnancy and it states opposing ideas within subjects in the book. This source is also found on a credible website that contains scholarly sources, Questia School. Additionally, the book was published in 2013 which means that it is credible due to its current information. This source definitely relates to my topic overall and it is my most valuable resource with its current information. Because of this source, I also came to conclusions that I had not thought about or agreed with prior to reading this source. In conclusion, this source is very important in my project and it will be used throughout my presentation and website.
